Hello! First off, I have to tell you that it takes me a full month to get back into the swing of things after going back to work (school) in September so that's why I've been MIA. With that said, I've decided to make my life just a little busier by renting a space at the antique mart. I've missed the shop over the last two years and I just kept coming across all this great stuff. The old schoolhouse chalkboard got me going and since I don't have a wall big enough for it, I had to grab it for someone else! Very 'restoration hardware' at a fraction of the price.
I chose this space because of the brick wall, but in between the walls was a boring section of drywall.
An easy and inexpensive fix was two dropcloths ($10) sewn together, and three large clamp worklights. The dropcloths washed up so soft and drapey that I was totally amazed! I was going for an industrial sort of look, nothing fussy, so these lights did the trick and for under fifty dollars I was able to get the look I was going for!
Hey Roberta
ReplyDeleteI love it all.. especially that blackboard...
I bought a drop cloth recently for the same reason.. and like you say love the texture and drape.. just have it thrown over a sofa at present but the usage is endless.. Sadly though they 'ain't' $10 here!!! haha but still cheaper than alternatives..
Fabulous stuff.. look forward to seeing more of your stall and you!!! xxx Julie

Perfect with the brick :-)) If I was a seamstress I'd make some drop cloth slipcovers. Good luck with the booth, looks like fun!
