Look over to your left and see the beautiful marsh behind the beach cottage.
I awoke early one morning after a stormy night and this little white boat was floating here. At first I thought it was my imagination! I think John claimed it as his own as it's been resting here ever since.

Let's climb over these rocks to the clearing.
Keep your eyes open for shells..darn, I forgot the bags. One for trash, one for treasures. This conch shell is a little battered but I'll claim it for my collection.
There's a patch of pebbly sand just ahead where I sit and daydream sometimes.
Aha, something else for my wishlist. Two weathered Adirondack chairs! Let's see, an outdoor shower, picket fence and two of these chairs. That should do it for now....
Thank goodness for pockets even though these don't hold much!
At home I spread out my treasures. hmm, a rare peice of driftwood and a very pretty shell with wavy edges in the perfect color. I've never seen one of these before...perhaps it has travelled far.

Blogged for Barbara's Waterside Wednesday. I hope you have enjoyed one of the last walks of summer. For now, I'm back to whitewashing the cottage walls. Stay tuned...
Hello Roberta, what a pretty place to walk... I love the spot where you sit and dream... and how fun to find hidden treasures along the way... I do hope you will post about this same spot in Autumn so I can see how it changes with the seasons... Bisous... Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI love that you usually take two bags along on your walks — one for trash, one for treasure. The shell you found is an oyster shell and depending on where you live it looks like either an Eastern or Pacific Oyster. I find these on my beaches here in Florida.
ReplyDeleteLovely post and an equally lovely walk.
Such a calm, gentle place to walk... I'm sure I'd be there every morning. When I get a moment, I'm going to go back & look at your old blog too... see what treasure you have hidden there.
ReplyDeleteI hope your day is peaceful & brings you many smiles :-)

ReplyDeleteOh, I'll walk with you along a path like that any time!
ReplyDeleteHi Roberta~~I so enjoyed my little beach walk with you a few moments ago--so peaceful and serene--and being able to pick up shells so close to your home--what a delight! Don't take it for granted cause it is a special blessing for you. I love shells but have to purchase any I get as I live smack dab in the middle of Texas. Well, the beauty of this beachy blog makes me feel uplifted and motivated to face the challenges of Life today. Thanks so much for your special post...

Thanks for a lovely walk through your world. I wonder where the boat came from? Enjoy your week. Julie
ReplyDeleteRoberta, this is just the perfect spot to daydream! And the shells are beautiful! I love how you see beauty in everything, it is just so refreshing!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Amy
What a pretty walk to take - I love the ocean and the shore. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such a lovely comment. I used to live in Cambridge and loved it when I could get out to the shore and the Cape. It is so beautiful.

Me again - just read through your older posts! I love your cottage and your style. I am going to become a follower - have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us all along on your lovely beach walk. I have one advantage over other bloggers when it comes to picturing myself there... I've actually been to your tranquil cove when I came to photograph your sweet cottage.
ReplyDeleteJohn's boardwalk, however, is a new addition and a lovely one.
There are still 3 weeks left of summer. Don't rush me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place for a walk. Thanks for taking us along

What a beautiful walk along the water! I am longing for a late-summer trip to the beach now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, serene walk! LOVE those weathered Adirondack chairs!
ReplyDeleteOh, Roberta, I think you truly live in a little paradise!! To have all that coastal beauty AND the four seasons too! (Yes, I know we all have the four seasons, I mean changing leaves, snow, melting, drippy springs...).
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the fresh new walls!
xoxo
