Waterside Wednesday. So here goes. It's dark already and I have my Tatine 'woodsmoke' candle lit. I actually got a first 'whiff' of woodsmoke while out on a walk earlier. It's not really cool enough for an indoor fire yet but somebody couldn't wait! Anyhow, I picked up this book for a buck at a thrift shop because I loved the title 'London' and the spark of color. (just this once) A nice place to rest some coral.
Pantone picked 'Mimosa' for their color for 2009! Peel back the jackets and check the bindings for some great and inexpensive decorating tools!
I think I mentioned that I was painting the walls white. Well, this is where everything ended up while I painted the living room. Lots of shells and white candles waiting to be re-vignetted! (?)
Here's the little pink rose plate from Vintage Lizzie on the Cape. Looks like I've been adding some bits of other little treasures in there too. I see rhinestone pins and some blue beads from a bobeche that I cannot part with.

This simple stack of bleached white shells says it all for me. Be sure to stop by and visit the kindred spirits over at Barbara's Waterside Wednesday! That's where I'm headed now!
It calms me too. What fun to rearrange & look at your things with new eyes... like a little shopping spree in your own home.
ReplyDeleteSweet day,

Oh Roberta, sooo pretty! Seashells calm me too... I love my special one from you! I cannot wait to see when you have everything finished! I love the smell of a woodburning stove in Autumn too... would love it even more by the ocean! Bisous... Julie Marie

I'm vacationing at the beach this week. There is nothing more peaceful than being surrounded by the sea, shells and sky. I have shells tucked all over my house, to remind me how I feel when I'm actually near the water. I love your shells.

Hi
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I love the seashell photos, they calm me too. I went back a little and really liked the shells on the fence and of course shells lined up on a window sill never gets old - it's so simple and holds its charm forever.
But what I really like is the beach bum baby -
I tried to find your follow button - the easiest way for me to remember how to find you again, but couldn't. I'll bookmark you till I figure it out -
Thank you for coming by and commenting on my blog -
Great to meet you -
Marsha
Like so many of us waterside fans, shells calm me too. There is nothing I love more than meandering along the water's edge and stooping down for a shell...a treasure!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are calming...like the sea.I share your excitement of rearranging treasures. It's like reacquainting a relationship with old friends.

Hi Roberta, I only have one room decorated with shells. Some of them are colected from when I was little living in Washington State. Some were collected by my boys on the beaches here in CT. My youngest son loves to rearrange them quite often.
