Rose Bowl 'ROSES'

I'm back from a wonderful holiday, (CA and NC) to see the kiddos.  My final stop on this planet just may be as far west as I am east presently and still remain in the USA, with it's perfect weather and beautiful sandy coastline!  Venice Beach, Marina del Rey and Santa Monica surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the 'hills', farmer's markets and a major flea market every weekend!  Heck yeah!  Bethany and I scoured the Rose Bowl Flea for three hours and I was happy to bring back these pink 'ROSES' letters with the perfect patina from Kathy at Chateau et Jardin.  It was so nice to meet her and to our surprise we both had pics in the same Romantic Country magazine on facing pages.
Lovely inside or outside and what a statement!  Think I'll use these pics for the next mantel of the month since they don't quite fit on my mantel.

Look at this sweet apartment building that I fell in love with around the corner from my daughter.  Mission style with loads of character on Driftwood Street.   Yup, I could live here.  Give up my beach house to be with the kids?  As soon as the last one moves to the west coast!   I stalked this place every chance I could get and there was one apartment available!

This place had great privacy from the street with a wall of greens with the exception of this opening....see the yards of billowy muslin with tiny lights strung on the patio and chandelier?  Dreamy and so pretty at night.  She had a wire going from the house to the tree to create a canopy. One of the many times I discreetly slowed down to peek, (stuck my nose in the opening) the nice lady waved.  ha

On the other hand... NC has gorgeous beaches and the surf is warm!  The best part?  The boys of course!

Now to get everybody on the same coast....I can see it happening!

I also visited the new Pom Pom, Rachel Ashwell's new store and Vintage Weave.  More on those soon...

Those letters are so perfectly chippy and gorgeous! I know what you mean about the west coast. I lived in San Diego for 8 years and the weather is perfect. Plus - the flea markets!

I had a friend in that area... whenever asked "how are things?" her standard answer was "79 degrees & ocean breezes." Never been, but I think I too would love it there.

Love the ROSES & the precious little faces. Happy day to you :-)

Sounds like you are enjoying the wanderlust! I love the apartment, too. Who could not want to live on Driftwood Street. The name conjures up all good thoughts!

Love the letters...

"79 degrees and ocean breezes" Love that! Might have to borrow that statement. I think Everyone should move to sunny Southern California - the lifestyle is dreamy and it has changed my mood to infinitely more positive. Who can be grouchy when the sun is always shining and you never need anything heavier than a sweatshirt? Loved having you here!!

We have one who probably won't leave Illinois and one in Florida. We are going to be making some life decisions not too long from now. I wish my Illinois boy would move closer to my Florida girl...would make the decisions so much easier.

Love the letters!

Would be mighty hard to have those adorable little boys live so far away. I miss mine, one is in Tennessee and one in Maryland. Both military families, so we never know where they may go. It's hard, but at least we get to visit places we never would go and experienced some pretty areas. I love those letters and the apt.- is so nice. I would probably be tempted to drift right on in to Driftwood street.

I was at the Rose Bowl the very same day as you, but I never saw those sweet letters. I did however, find other really cool stuff, which is never hard to do at the Rose Bowl!

Your grandsons are so precious - I have two as well. At first I didn't think anything could be worse than having them on the east coast (they were in NY) when I was on the west coast, but I was wrong... two months ago they moved to Guam!

Oh be still my heart! I love that Spanish style of building and would love to live in one of those old apt buildings. My hubby thinks I'm nuts but I tell him, there's something that captures my heart in that style. How nice the lady has fixed it up so nicely, I bet you made her day when she saw you looking and she waved to you... she knew you appreciated her style! How great you were able to spend time with the kids! Can't wait to hear about the shopping, did you get your French heart? I hope so, sweetheart.
